The Jackie Trent Guest Book
Last Sunday I heard via Jackie's Spanish radio broadcast that her mother Lily had passed away and I was deeply saddened.
I met Lily some years ago when I was Jackie's house guest and Lily was there too, we had a lot of laughs that weekend and a nice dinner at a French restaraunt. Not forgetting the wonderful barbecue Jackie & Lily prepared!
Over the years we would call each other, I never had to say who I was when I called her as Lily knew every time - she was as bright as a button right up until about a year ago.
Lily thought the world of Jackie and indeed her whole family, "My Lovely Jackie" she would say to me, she was so proud of them all.
Lily, I will remember you and the laughs we had with great fondness.
Rest in peace.
I hope you will all forgive me, but I had to say something publicly re Mum, who passed away just 3 weeks ago (See 'News')
What I had to say will probably be my final News item of this current web site.
Why? Because we thought it high time to refresh the site and maybe include an audio/video page of me and my 'doings.' AND to invite you all to contribute by suggestions of what content YOU would like to see. For instance, I am often asked for signed photographs? We could post a selection of my professonal shots over the years for sale at a modest price. And Karl is there to bring my discography up to date again.
Now, can I also send a message to Ian and Nigel in Fethiye, Turkey?
Sorry that my visit to your Festival didn't work out for you this time. Maybe next time? And thanks for 'staying in there.'
Luv to All around the World,
Jackie

Thanks for the albums. Glad to see your a gene fan to, Ian whats your favourite Gene song?
Ian to answer your question about Baby Are You Puttin' Me On -some years ago Jackie and I were compiling tracks for a possible cd compilation and I was recording her comments, Jackie's mum came in half way through and gave her opinion on some.
When we got to THAT SONG she said and I quote "Oh I Don't Like That One, I DOn't Like That At All If It Was Anyone Other Than Jackie I'd Switch It Off.
By this time I Was helpless with laughter!!!
Having recently learned that Jackie's mum has turned 100.....congratulations..am wondering Karl..why that song shouldn't be played.
Incidently Jackie some Rock fans in the bar all loved your version of Handbags and Gladrags

Hummingbird has long been a favourite of mine along with It's All In The Way You Look At Life, that is an absolutely brilliant record.
Baby Are You Puttin' Me On is a great album track, just don't play it to Jackie's mum!!!!
Whils't making a summer compilation for the bar I included When The Summertime is over....forgotten what a lovely song it is...sure on the lines of Where Are You Now...but still a lovely song in its own right.
Other Jackie Singles which still sound good
Hummingbird
Its all In the Way You Look at life

Typo error on my last post, I mean to say Jackie's back catalogue, you'll find some on Ebay.
Aaron you will find some of Jackie's back on Ebay.
You have great musical taste for your age, I am also a big Gene Pitney fan and saw him in concert several times.
Hope you find what you're looking for.
